Welcome!

This is my first official post on my new blog, Batterie de Cuisine. For those of you who don’t know, batterie de cuisine is French and literally translates to “battery of kitchen.” The phrase is typically used to mean a fully stocked kitchen, which is one of my many aspirations. Here I will write about not only the new gadgets and tools that I’m currently wishing for, but also my epicurean adventures.

I would definitely consider myself a foodie. I LOVE food, cooking, and the like. My favorite food magazine is Bon Appetit, which I dream of being able to write for one day. I continually keep stocking up on new cooking tools, knives, and pans. (I’m a senior in high school, so for the moment everything is packed tightly into my closet.) I also own a plethora of cookbooks that I try to make use of whenever I get the chance.

This summer I will be traveling to Denver for a 3 day baking and pastry class at Johnson & Wales University, to Boston for a food coma with my sister, and then to a culinary conference in New York City where I will see Foodnetwork, the Chelsea Market, have a fine dining experience, and take several classes at the Institute of Culinary Education. I’m so excited, and I’ll be documenting the entire trip.

Later on I’ll also write about what I’ve been cooking or eating lately, posting photos, etc. I hope you enjoy the blog!

Très amicalement,
(with very best wishes)

An Excited Epicurean
